Between
two English bands, beginning with Jason
Crest from 1967 and finishing with P.I.L. in 2012, we heard recordings
from different continents, eras and styles as always on this show, presented again this week by
both the Cat & the Brat, but for the first time
from our new 3D Radio studios in St Peters.
There seemed to be a large European contingent
though, amongst them les Liminanas from France, S.T Mikael from Sweden, Head & the Hares from Italy, and Rob de Neys from the Netherlands. We were saddened to hear of the passing of Reg Presley and featured a tribute to his iconic band, the Troggs. We played some classic Mike
Furber, Doors and Rezillos plus songs from the
Allah-Las, Toy
and Jim
Noir, not to mention Part 1 of “Space Kids”, a radio serial
featuring music by the Lost from 1968 that was never
broadcast [watch out for Part 2 next week!] Throw in Johnny
Young & the
Easybeats demoing ‘Step Back’ in 1966 and Nico joining Bauhaus onstage in 1981, with lots
more great music and there’s the show for another week.....
